New York City & New York State Official Updates
Current major guidelines in effect in New York City:

As of 8 PM Sunday, March 22nd and until at least May 15th, whether healthy or sick, all New Yorkers must stay home unless they are designated essential workers, or to purchase food, seek medical care, or exercise. ​

Essential workers include employees in shipping, media, warehousing, grocery and food production, pharmacies, health care providers, utilities, banks, and related financial institutions.

All non-essential businesses must remain closed, including but not limited to hair and nail salons, bars and restaurants, and gyms.

All non-essential gatherings of any size are banned.

Schools are closed until at least May 15th.

As of April 1st, playgrounds have officially been closed by the city and state government.

Anyone going to a public setting should wear a face mask or other type of protective face barrier, like a bandana. Avoid purchasing N95 surgical masks that medical professionals urgently need, you can make your own mask with a bandana or other piece of fabric.

You may be fined for not complying with these regulations.
