DIRECT SERVICES
Our Approach
Our approach to working with survivors of torture regards them as having resources and assets which have enabled them to survive their victimization. We recognize the necessity of a culturally sensitive approach which utilizes the client's own cultural and religious practices and resources for healing from the effects of severe human rights abuses. We focus on symptom reduction and helping survivors rebuild their lives by assisting with social adjustment and connecting clients to supports within the community.
